ADOR(N)ATION

Saturday, April 21, 2018
From 4-5PM
La Encantada Shopping Center (Main Square)
2905 E Skyline Dr, Tucson, AZ 85718

Turning her gaze from the landscape to the terrain of the human body, artist Angela Rose invites five individuals to offer their own bodies as sites for Angela’s next site-specific work . . . and then, to wear the new artworks for a public exhibition in the cityscape.

No goods, money, or materials are exchanged. Artist and participants contribute time and commitment to create something new and exciting. Over a period of four months, the participants meet in Rose’s studio in their own clothing, having done their own hair and make-up–or not. No body image is altered in the making or photographing of this project. The artist uses her own materials of metal and leather to creatively respond to aspects of the individual, not just the proportion of the body, but also the breadth of experience and the depth of personality.

Ador(n)ation brings this unique studio collaboration into the urban arena, unveiling a new collection of body adornments worn by the individuals who inspired them.

Participants from ADOR(N)ATION, ranging in age from twenty-something to ninety-something, made a final photoshoot in the desert, wearing the works they inspired.
